You can contact a doctor, nurse or other healthcare professional by using our online triage system called Systmconnect.

If you struggle to use online services for any reason, receptionists are still available to help submit the request form for you. If you can use online services, we request that the phones are left free for patients who cannot.

Online triage systems for booking appointments have been introduced as part of NHS England’s efforts to improve access to healthcare services and streamline the appointment booking process.

This means that we are contractually obligated to incorporate such systems as part of our service delivery. The system is designed to help practices manage patient demand more effectively and ensure that patients are directed to the most appropriate care pathway.

Appointments are triaged by urgency, not first come first serve so we kindly request that the information provided is truthful and accurate to enable us to offer the correct  health care professional for those patients that need them most.

For any appointments that are not booked with a doctor such as blood tests, cervical screening, NHS Health Checks, vaccinations, etc, please phone us on 01908 221180 or use the invite link provided to book online.

Urgent appointments

To request an urgent appointment for today or tomorrow (Monday to Friday) during Opening times

When you get in touch, we’ll ask what you need help with.

We will use your answers to choose the most suitable doctor, nurse or healthcare professional to help you.

Routine appointments

To request a routine nurses appointment in advance during opening times:

Enhanced access

This surgery uses 111 service if you have a serious medical problem when the surgery is closed please use this number.

When you call the 111, you will be asked for details including your name, address and what you are calling about. Depending what your problem is, you may be offered a call back from a GP, GP visit or self help advice. If your problem appears more serious you may need to visit A&E.

Please note: the out of hours service cannot deal with injuries. If you are too badly hurt to treat yourself you must go the casualty department at Milton Keynes Hospital.

Call 999 in an emergency. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.

Phone calls from the duty doctors

When an urgent phone call is requested from the duty doctor, the doctor will only try to contact you once, so please stay by the phone

Availability: four mornings and three afternoons except Wednesday and one duty day.

Availability: four mornings and four afternoons except Friday and one duty day.

Availability: four mornings and four afternoons except Thursday and one duty day.

Dr Sayed
Availability: two mornings and two afternoons except Monday, Tuesday, Friday and one duty day.

three morning except Wednesday and Thursday.

Practice Nurse

In a number of cases it might considered an appointment with a practice nurse is appropriate rather than a doctor. Practice nurses are qualified to deal with many ailments and you may be seen more quickly. Nurses’ appointment times vary depending on procedure

Interpreter

If you require an interpreter when arranging an appointment with one of our health care professionals, please make our patient navigator team aware as you will require a longer appointment time and we will need to book an interpreter with the service provider.

If you require this service but we are not aware your appointment may have to be re- arranged. Please also note that friends or family members will not be able to act as your interpreter.

However you choose to contact us, we may offer you a consultation:

  • by phone
  • face to face at the surgery
  • on a video call
  • by text or email

Appointments by phone, video call or by text or email can be more flexible and often means you get help sooner.

Patients failing to attend appointments

Patients who fail to attend appointments are depriving others who could have used this appointment. We receive many complaints from patients who can’t get a regular appointment for some time due to the shortage of appointments, and this is a contributing factor.

The practice will now review all patients who fail to attend any appointments, and will place them into monitored groups as a result.

Anyone who fails to attend on more than three occasions will be reviewed, and likely removed from the practice list.

We began a campaign a few months ago aiming to educate patients to cancel their appointments in good time if they are unable to attend. You will be pleased to know that these figures are improving!

However, there is still some way to go and we ask that if you are unable to attend your appointment that you contact the surgery as soon as possible (ideally giving 24 hours notice). If you wish to cancel an appointment, please let us know. 

We are keen to make our surgery one of the most efficient in Milton Keynes and you can help us do this!

If you need help when we are closed

The surgery is open for phone calls and face to face enquiries between the hours of 8am and 6:30pm.

If you need medical help now when we are closed, use NHS 111 online or call 111.

NHS 111 online is for people aged 5 and over. Call 111 if you need help for a child under 5.

Urgent health care outside of surgery hours throughout Milton Keynes is done as part of a GP co-operative through the Milton Keynes Urgent Care Centre.

Emergencies

Emergencies – what are they?

If you or someone else experiences the symptoms below, and feel that it is so serious it cannot wait, go to your nearest accident & emergency department, or call 999.

Symptons include:

  • Chest pain
  • Severe abdominal pain
  • Vomiting blood
  • Black stools
  • Breathlessness
  • Cardiac chest pain
  • Non-blanching rashes (the glass test)
  • Possible anaphylactic shock (swelling of mouth and throat)

Home visits

Whilst we encourage our patients to come to the surgery, where we have the appropriate equipment and facilities available, we do appreciate this is not always possible. In this respect, if you do need a home visit, you can help us by calling reception before 11am

You may only request a home visit if you are housebound or are too ill to visit the practice. Your GP will only visit you at home if they think that your medical condition requires it and will also decide how urgently a visit is needed. Please bear this in mind and be prepared to provide suitable details to enable the doctor to schedule house calls

You can also be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.

The on call duty doctor may deem it necessary to visit with a chaperone, we will endeavour to notify you of this at the time of booking. Please be aware we have several members of staff who are trained as chaperones, and they may not be a member of the clinical team.
